<p>PURPOSE:To enable the shadow mask of a high-definition color cathode-ray tube or the like having an extremely small hole diameter to be reused without any problem. CONSTITUTION:When a shadow mask coated with a getter, at first, is immersed in a caustic soda solution with high temperature (about 80 deg.C) and high concentration (about 20%) for 5min, the getter film becomes extremely thin. After the above removal of the getter film, the frame and the body of the shadow mask are separated, and the mask alone is put into a hydrogen furnace so as to remove a blackened film. By thus removing the getter film before the separation of the mask and the body of the shadow mask is carried out, a cathode-ray tube with an excellent characteristic can be obtained by using a used shadow mask.</p> |
