PURPOSE:To improve the operation efficiency of a system by providing a means of fractionizing a data part into data groups of size which corresponds to a head interval when forming data blocks on a magnetic recording medium, and a group check code generating means. CONSTITUTION:On receiving data 1 transferred from a host device, an IF control circuit 13 detects a data block start mark and commands a block mark indicating circuit 14 to send the start mark to a data buffer 12-1, and then the data is transferred to the data buffer 12-1 to send its start mark through a block start detector 26, thereby sending a signal to a block format control part 25. The control part 25 interrupts the data transfer of a loading buffer address part 22, a preamble 6 is written by a writing head WH through a block redundancy part generator 34, an OR circuit 19, and a modulating circuit 20, and a check mark generator generates and writes a BSM. Similarly, data is fractionized to improve the operation efficiency of the system. |
