PURPOSE:To reproduce correct information by using a reading light beam which has the small quantity of light and succeeds to a recording beam to confirm whether a desired bit is formed by the recording light beam including a defective of a medium, and then recording the confirmation result in an area succeeding to recording information as information correction. CONSTITUTION:An information control circuit 25 inputs external information to be recorded through a signal line 26 and also inputs a timing signal for showing whether the present position of a light spot 19 on a disk is in an information area or an error correction area through a signal line 27. When the timing information shows the information area, the information is inputted to a modulator 1 through signal lines 26 and 22. The modulator 1 generates a reading light beam and a light beam emitted by a semiconductor laser 3 is converged to an about 1mum spot diameter on an information recording surface of the disk 16 through a polarization beam splitter 12, a quarter-wavelength plate 14, and an objective 15 to record desired binary information on the recording surface during recording. |
