PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head with high precision, at a high working speed, and at high yield by working the 1st grooves shallowly to prescribed track width with a cutting tool with small thickness, and then working the 2nd grooves for crosstalk prevention deeper than the 1st grooves with a thick cutting tool. CONSTITUTION:In a ferrite substrate 1, the 1st grooves for determining prescribed track width Tw are formed to depth (d) with a cutting tool with thickness A, and then this cutting tool is put in feed motion by Tw in order to obtain the track width Tw. As a result, work pitch P is equal to Tw+2A+tw. At this time, a work feed speed is 2mm./s. Then, a cutting tool which is thicker than said cutting tool and is as thick as or a little bit thinner than (2A+tw) is used to work the 2nd grooves away from the 1st grooves by a value shown by the equation at a 4mm./s speed double as fast as the feed speed of the 1st grooves. Thus, the work is corried out at a speed several times as high as usual, and a video head which has 1-2mu precision of the cracking of a track part and <=+ or -mu high precision, and also improves crosstalk is manufactured. |
