PURPOSE:To obtain an optically readable and writable recording member which has long life and is free of the problems of poison by providing a metallic layer, containing an oil-soluble dye which never spoils the stability of a stable metal together with the stable metal. on a base, and thus forming a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:A base 1 of glass, plastic, etc., is coated over rotation with a dye solution soluble in an organic solvent other than water which has excellent light absorbing and coating properties and never reacts with metals, and the solution is dried to form a dye layer 3 which performs efficient light absorption necessary for writing. Then, Ag is vapor-deposited on the layer to form a metallic layer 2, thus manufacturing a recording member 3. In another way, the base 1 is coated with a mixture of a silver salt solution consisting of AgNO3, aqueous ammonia, formamide, and water and a methanol mixed liquid of formalin and after the mixture is dried to form a silver mirror 2, the dye layer 2 is formed on the layer 3 to manufacture the recording member. Consequently, a reflection type optical information recording member which is stable for a long period and has superior sensitivity is obtained easily without using poisonous metals. |
