PURPOSE:To provide the titled remedy free from side effects such as abnormality in the state of the blood, and composed of a syrup containing a propanol derivative or its acid addition salt, sucrose, and water. CONSTITUTION:The compound of formulaI(R is lower alkyl; the ring A is phenyl, halogenophenyl, methylphenyl, or trifluoromethylphenyl) or its acid addition salt is dissolved in an aqueous solution of sucrose at a concentration of 0.0004-0.6w/v%, and if necessary, sterilized with heat and filtered to obtain the objective agent for depressing the intracranial pressure. The concentration of sucrose in the syrup is 15-60w/v%, and the pH of the syrup is preferably 3- 7. Dose: 1-10mg/kg daily. The compound of formula can be prepared by reacting the compound of formula II with the compound of formula III. EFFECT:It is effective at an extremely low dose; keeps the activity for a long period, and is free of side effects such as the rebound of the intracranial pressure. |
