PURPOSE:To reduce the deviation between the refrigerating capacity of an air conditioner obtained at the time of 50 Hz operation and that obtained at the time of 60Hz operation, by employing such an arrangement that the compression capacity of a compressor at the time of 50Hz operatin is greater than that at the time of 60Hz operation. CONSTITUTION:One side of a valve 5 is connected to the suction side of a compressor 1 while the other side of the valve 5 is connected to the release side of the compressor 1 from which a part of cooling medium in the process of compression of the compressor 1 is released. When the compressor 1 is operated under the mode release operation at a rated voltage of a 60Hz power source, with the valve 5 being kept open, a part of cooling medium in the process of compression of the compressor 1 is passed through the valve 5 and released to the suction side of the compressor 1. |
