PURPOSE:To decide simply the highlight reference point, by obtaining the slice level of each primary color negative plate based on the area of the highlight region which is obtained by slicing a color original image on the basis of a gray scale and selecting the highlight region. CONSTITUTION:The light transmitted through an original 1 is photograhed by a TV camera 3 via a filter 2. The filter 2 consists of an ND filter and the R, G and B filters. The output of the camera 3 is turned into a binary value by a camera controller 4. The slice level at which each concentration range of the gray scale changes from black to white is stored in a memory (RAM)7M. A binary image on a TV monitor 5 is sliced by a console 9, and the fundamental slice level is decided. Then the slice level is obtained for each of R, G and B so that the slice level is approximate to the area of the highlight region obtained when the fundamental slice level is decided. Using this slice level, the highlight reference point is decided. |
