PURPOSE:To obtain an antiulcer agent containing a superoxide dismutase derivative as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:An antiulcer agent obtained by containing a compound expressed by formula I {[SOD] is superoxide dismutase having 1-6 groups obtained by removing one H from amino group in place of amino group; [Z] is a monovalent group of a copolymer, having a group selected from groups expressed by formula II (R<1> is H or methyl; R<2> is, H, Cl, Br or methyl), group expressed by formula III (R<7> is H or 1-4C alkanol) and group expressed by formula IV (direct bond of C of the carbonyl group is linked to [SOD]) as constituent units and having 800-20,000 average molecular weight; X is an integer of 1-6 corresponding to the number of groups obtained by removing one H from amino groups of the [SOD]}. The above-mentioned compound is particularly useful as an antipeptic ulcer agent or preventive against gastritis. The dose thereof is 0.1-500mg/human/day and preferably administered once or in divided portions.
