PURPOSE:To provide a hand display type electronic watch which is reduced in power consumption, by a method wherein, corresponding to a counting value obtained by clock circuit after a drive pulse stops, an electromechanical converter is operated by a quick feed to restore a display to a present time. CONSTITUTION:If a crown switch 9 is pulled by one step, a drive circuit 4 stops applying a drive pulse to a step motor 7 of an electromechanical converter through a control and switching circuit 3 and hands of an analogue display mechanism 8 are left as they are brought to a stop. Simultaneously, a clock circuit 6 counts a stop time. If, with this, the switch 9 is depressed to a normal position, a quick feed pulse, corresponding to the counting value of the circuit 6, is applied to the motor 7, the display 8 is restored to a present time. The constitution prevents a drive pulse from being applied to a display motor at a non- use time and enables to perform a rapid and reliable return to a present time at a using time, which results in providing a hand display type electronic watch consuming no useless power and being reduced in a power consumption. |
