The brake shoe for brakes, in particular partly lined disc brakes, comprises a supporting plate and a friction lining adhesively bonded to the latter, the supporting plate being formed from thermoset plastic. In this case, the supporting plate (2) has a reinforcing insert which extends over the entire surface area of the supporting plate, includes in its coverage the parts (2a) free from the friction lining and is surrounded on all sides by the plastic. The plastic supporting plate (2) is provided at least on the adhering side with respect to the friction lining (3) with surface profilings (9, 10) which extend over the surface area of the same and may comprise corrugations, beads, flangings and/or edgings. <IMAGE>
