PURPOSE:To minimize a space in a furnace when a goup of members with different characteristics are continuously tempered, by previously calculating the length of a space required at the minimum and operating the furnace while maintaining the length. CONSTITUTION:This invention relates to a controlling method for a continuously heat treating furnace for continously tempering a group of members with different characteristics. Among the discharge pitches of the members a longer discharge picth is applied, and a total tempering parameter or the temp. of the tube at the discharge side is previously obtd. every member of the group by operation. Whether the value is within a certain range or not is then discrimnated, and the furnace is operated while maintaining a length corresponding to a part of each member which is not within the certain range as the length of a space in the furnace. |
