PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a displacement in position and collision with an adjoining type, by a method wherein, in an impact printer, the back of a type is formed into a flat shape, while a hammer padding part is structured in an inclining projection, and a mating recess is formed in the forward end of a hammer. CONSTITUTION:In an impact printer, a trapezoid hammer padding part 16, consisting of a projection part 20 which is formed in a cross section, formed by cutting it at right angles with an axial direction of a spoke, such that it has surfaces 19 tilting from a flat part 18 paralleling type surface 17, is formed at the back of a type 3 at the forward end of he spoke 2 of a printing wheel. A recess part 21, which can mate the projection part 20 and consists of tilting surfaces 22 corresponding to the tilting surfaces 19 and of a R-shaped bottom 22, is formed in a forward end of a hammer 8C, the forward end of the 8C is formed such that it tapers from an upper surface 24 to a lower surface 25, and is cut such that the front part of the forward end projects to the location more forward than the forward end of the upper surface 24. This prevents the occurrence of a displacement in position at an impacting time of the type, prevents the occurrence of collision with an adjoining type, and enables to perform an easy high- speed flight printing through the working of the flat part 18. |
