PURPOSE:To perform sure decision without the influence of on-site conditions by pulverizing the solidified soil to be decided, and suspending this into water then adding barium chloride thereto. CONSTITUTION:Water glass type chemicals are mainly used for recent chemical solutions for stabilization process of the soil, and one of these is a chemical soln. contg. sulfuric acid or sulfate as a reacting agent. In the case of sulfuric acid, the reaction of (water glass)+(sulfuric acid) (boric acid)+(water)+(silica gel) takes place and the boric acid dissolves in water to make SO4<2->. If BaCl2 (barium chloride soln.) is added to such soln., the white precipitate of BaSO4 (barium sulfate) is produced. Therefore, the production of the white precipitate of the barium sulfate when barium chloride is added to the solidified soil indicates easily and surely that the chamical soln. is injected to the soil to be injected. |
