A compensation device for an input voltage to be measured and to be subjected to a power amplification or to a remote indication, a motor-driven compensation potentiometer generating a compensation voltage which is connected in opposition to the input voltage. An auxiliary amplifier (8) with fixed feedback, one input of which is connected to the tap (6a) of the potentiometer (6), is connected between the power amplifier (12) amplifying the difference between input voltage and compensation voltage and the compensation potentiometer (6). The auxiliary amplifier (8) is supplied with power via at least one current injection circuit in series with a voltage source, the compensation potentiometer also being connected to this branch. For this reason, the auxiliary amplifier can shift the feed voltage for the compensation potentiometer in each case in such a manner that the slider is connected with extremely low impedance and without load to a constant potential, for example earth potential. <IMAGE>
