PURPOSE:To prevent hardening of an extruded material due to drop in temperature, facilitate deformation and improve coiling effect by installing a heater between a hot extrusion press and a coiler and thereby controlling temperature drop of a long-sized extruded material. CONSTITUTION:A long-sized extruded material 13 extruded from a hot extrusion press 1 is guided laterally in juxtaposition, and carried by a conveyor 14. It goes to a coiler 16 while being guided by a chute 15 provided at the tip of the conveyor 14 and coiled. In the case of continuous extrusion using an extrusion press, the extruded material 13 stagnates for a time after a billet of previous step is extruded until a billet of the next step is fed to the extrusion press 1. During such period of stagnation, the extruded material 13 is heated by heaters 17, 18, 19 of a canister guide pipe 12, the conveyor 14 and the chute 15, and lowering of temperature is controlled. |
