PURPOSE:To obtain cold water rapidly and positively at a cold water storage section even when there is little water in a water layer, and to condition air quickly and effectively by sprinkling water heat-exchanged by means of a heat exchange unit to the ice layer of an ice storage section from the lower side. CONSTITUTION:An ice storage section 6 is mounted into a storage tank 1 with an ice making device 3 while a cold water storage section 7 is set up at the lower stage of the ice storage section 6. In an air conditioner 13 in which water is forwarded to the ice storage section 6 and the cold water obtained in the cold water storage section 7 is circulated to a heat exchange unit 12, the water heat- exchanged by means of the unit 12 is sprinkled to the ice layer of the ice storage section 6 from the lower section. That is, problems of adhering of ice of ice groups 5 and water, or clogging of a flow path, which have been in the prior art and disabled quick prepn. of ice, have been eliminated because of an effective heat exchange between ice and water even when there remains a little water sprayed to the lower section of the ice layer in this method.
