The invention relates to a holder for a laser rod in a pump mirror (which is bounded at the end by reflector plates) of a laser transmitter. In order to hold the laser rod (1) precisely, permanently and in a manner which is insensitive to load, the reflector plates (5, 6) are in each case provided with a retaining hole (8), a clamping spring (12) being provided as the holding element at each end of the laser rod, which clamping spring (12) is supported on one side (13) of the laser rod and presses the laser rod on the opposite side into a prism-like guide (10, 11).
