<p>PURPOSE:To attain effective utilization of a buffer by managing the number of buffers corresponding to a virtual call, informing the release contact of a reception buffer from the output side to the input side at data packet transmission, and applying window control of the input side in response to the remaining number of buffers corresponding to the virtual call. CONSTITUTION:The number of buffers is managed corresponding to the VC by a packet processing program 1a at packet network (DCE) side and a packet processing program 1b at packet terminal (DTE) side. The released contract of a reception buffer is noticed to the input side by data transmission acknowledgement 1d at the output side data (DT) packet transmission and the window control is applied in response to the remaining buffer number corresponding to the VC at the input side by the provided function. Thus, if an output data stays in the buffer corresponding to the VC in the system due to a reason such as a slow line speed at the output side line, the window updating at the input side is stopped, and the input of a new data is suppressed. Thus, the buffer is utilized effectively.</p> |
