PURPOSE:To enable a frame erasing in a large area with sufficient quantity of light for frame erasing by placing in combination an optical path limiting material, which is fixed in between a charge eliminating light source and an image carrier, and a movable light shielding material. CONSTITUTION:A movable slit 4, which is the light shielding material to limit the irradiating area of the charge eliminating beam, is placed between a mirror 8 and openings 2a-2d of a frame body 2, and this movable slit 4 is fixed onto a slit mount 3, provided on the frame body 2. The lens mount 14 responding to the projecting magnification of an image to the photosensitive body 1, travels along a guiding rail 16, within the optical path between the original and the photosensitive body 1, and a cam 13 fixed onto the lens amount 14 travels in the direction of an arrow B. Therefore, the slit mount 3 follows through a pin 3a, and the movable slit 4 travels with the traveling of the slit mount 3. At this time, the movable slit 4 is placed in the optical path from lamps 5 to the photosensitive body 1, and the irradiating area of the photosensitive body 1 is limited from each of the lamps 5 by the photosensitive body 1 traveling in a longitudinal direction. Thus a frame erasing of the image in a large area can be carried out. |
