PURPOSE:To reduce the consumption of lubricating oil, by providing a two-cycle engine with a variable-discharge oil pump and controlling the oil discharge quantity of the pump in terms of the intake negative pressure or the like of the engine to increase the discharge quantity in accordance with the rise in the load. CONSTITUTION:A plunger pump is provided as a variable-discharge oil pump 1. The range of reciprocation of the plunger of the pump is changed by the operation of a lever 12 to alter the quantity of discharged oil. Since the negative pressure in an intake pipe 16 near a throttle valve 17 is intense under light load but weakens under heavy load, the negative pressure is applied to the pressure chamber 19 of a negative pressure actuator 18 to operate the lever 12. When the degree of opening of the throttle valve 17 rises, the negative pressure weakens so that the actuator 18 protrudes a rod 20 while keeping the balance between the negative pressure in the pressure chamber 19 and the urging force of a spring 21, to move the lever 12 toward its position for the maximum quantity of discharged oil. |
