The invention relates to a device for keeping ventilating joints open in the case of multiple-leave masonry structures, the ventilating gaps of which are ventilated via the ventilating joints. The device comprises a single-piece or multi-piece hollow profile which can be introduced into the ventilating joints and the ventilating gaps. The hollow profile is designed, in the region of the ventilating joint, as a box profile or U-profile and has, in the region of the air gap, an approximately U-shaped profile, over which a covering in the form of a roof is arranged at a distance, with the result that lateral ventilating openings are formed. The roof is seated on a rear wall, fastened on the U-shaped profile, and on two side walls which are arranged at the transition point from the box profile to the U-shaped profile. The walls of the box profile are provided with predetermined breaking points for the purpose of adaptation to different block sizes. A transverse rib on the base of the box profile serves as water-deflecting means.
