The edge-pressing roller for consolidating road shoulders is incorporating into a road roller, as in 2061966. The consolidating roller (5) consists of a series of freely rotatable conical rings (7-9) on a common shaft (10). Each ring has its own bearing. The combined roller is pref. displaceable transversely to the direction of travel. Thus the design provides adjustability and adaptability to different road surfaces.PS.
