Fixing device for an electrophotographic copier

In an electrophotographic copier, an unfixed toner image is conveyed by a recording paper after a developing step has been carried out. The toner image is then fixed by bringing it into contact under heat with a fixing part; in this case, the fixing part has a surface section in which very small unevennesses are constructed very close to one another and have a height difference of approximately 5 to 250 mu m between the upper parts or crowns and the lower parts, the surfaces having no flat, plane faces when viewed macroscopically. The fixing part is constructed as a face of a drum or of an endless belt and establishes a fixing unit in conjunction with a curved plate located opposite it.
