Joint bolt for joining two drill rods together. These are used when drilling in ground to carry out geotechnological tests or the like.The joint bolt (1) consists of a threaded centre section (2) and end journals (3, 4) on either side of such. These have a length that exceeds their diameter. They also have non-spherical parts (5, 6) for engagement of keys. The ends of the journals (7, 8) have a circular cross section. In this way, the journal guides the bolt when it is inserted in the drill rods. The threads of the centre section have at least three entrances, generating a steep thread pitch. The threads taper to the end journals.<IMAGE> |
