The protective article of clothing, partic. for children, has a flexible cover (10), and a semi-stiff, transparent hood (12). An air supply channel (13) forming a back support plate is made of porous rubber or plastics, and issues into the hood above the head of the wearer and extends downwards along the back of the wearer. An air filter (21) is inserted in the channel (13) between its mouth (15) and a suction fan (22). The interior and most of the exterior of the air supply channel is of open pore structure to produce noise damping. |
