PURPOSE:To widen and vary combustion width, and to improve the characteristics of exhaust gas by changing the area of the opening of an outer cylinder by a regulating plate. CONSTITUTION:When regulating plates 21 are brought to opened conditions and the area D of the opening of an outer cylinder 20 is maximized, the force of ventilation P1 in the outer cylinders 17, 20 is maximized, and calorific value is also maximized. When the regulating plates 21 are brought to closed conditions and the area D of the opening of the outer cylinder 20 is minimized, the force of ventilation P1 in the outer cylinders 17, 20 is also minimized, and the calorific value is also minimized. That is, the force of ventilation P in the outer cylnders 17, 20 is changed by altering the area D of the opening of the outer cylinder 20, and the quantity of kerosene evaporated from a wick 22 and the quantity of air flowing into combustion chambers (d), (d') are varied by changing the force of ventilation P. Accordingly, the combustion width can be widened and varied, and the characteristics of exhaust gas at that time can also be improved. |
