The invention relates to a motor-vehicle seat (1). The particular feature of this seat lies in the fact that the sitting area (2) can be lowered in a region (5) on which the right thigh of a driver using the seat rests. This avoids, haemostasia in the right thigh which occur in the case of conventional seats if the driver continuously keeps his right foot pressed immovably on the accelerator and hence also keeps his right thigh pressed against the sitting area when making long motorway trips. <IMAGE>
