Toy aircraft

A toy aircraft for the purposes of play has a body, to which flight stabilisers and a vertical take-off device are attached for the purposes of ascending flight. The body consists of at least two shell parts which can be swivelled relative to each other and are held together to form the body during the ascending flight. Additionally, a folded gliding surface and an unfolding device, which swivels the shell parts and thereby unfolds the gliding surface, are provided in the body. Said unfolding device is actuated at the uppermost point of the ascending flight by a release mechanism. Additionally, the body can consist of four shell parts, two of which form a lower part facing the ground during flight and two form an upper part of the body. After they have been swivelled, the two lower shell parts form lateral boundaries of a tensioned central part of the gliding surface, whereas the upper shell parts bound the gliding surface at its upwardly projecting lateral edges.
