The invention relates to a method for marking telecommunications cable wires, coloured fusion adhesive (17) being used as the marking means. This fusion adhesive (17) is placed in the fluid state in a container (19) and is deposited, as markers (23), on the cable wires (22) to be marked via porous pressure stamps (3) on the circumference of rotating wheels (1, 2). As a result of the use of fusion adhesive (17), it is now possible (in contrast to the situation with previous methods) not to apply the marking until shortly before the processing to form cables, for example shortly before stranding (twisting). <IMAGE>
