In a burr-cleaning device for removing the burr, consisting of cutting slag and steel, collecting on and adhering to the jet-discharge side of the workpiece during the cutting of billets, blocks and slabs, a scraper is provided which bears with one side face fully against the workpiece surface affected by burr and has a scraper edge which removes the burr and runs at an angle to the cut in the workpiece and thus at an angle to the burr.
