<p>PURPOSE:To surely detect existence of feed paper, in a device with its bottom plate both for normally kick type and feed time-only kick type, by arranging an existence detector of sheets on the bottom plate integrally with a bottom plate kick member in a cassette. CONSTITUTION:A through hole 12 is opened to a paper of a bottom plate 5, and a light emitting element 13 and phototransistor 14, with their light emitting and receiving fields toward the through hole 12, are fixed to the edge of a kick member 9 corresponding to said through hole 12. Accordingly, when the bottom plate 5 is kicked by the kick member 9, recording paper X on the bottom plate 5 is irradiated by the light emitting element 13, and its reflected light is incident to the phototransistor 14, then existence of the recording paper can be confirmed. In this way, since the sheet existence detector is directly arranged to the kick member at high detection accuracy without causing a suspicious effect of a quantity of light in the surroundings to reception of reflected light from irradiation light, the detector can be applied to both devices of normally kick type and feed time-only kick type.</p> |
