PURPOSE:To correctly determine the unsatisfactory position of a wire to be discarded based on previous measurements at a place of the final winding process, by providing an instrumentation unit measuring the length of the stored wire to a wire storage unit of an optical fiber core line extruding line. CONSTITUTION:A wire 3 of a bobbin 1 is wound by a winding unit 31 of the final process after being worked on its way through a line storage unit 5, etc. Detection of an unsatisfactory point B wound in the bobbin 1 and located at a length LB backward from the position A can be performed by measuring the length that the length LB is added to the length LL from the point A to the winding unit 31. The stored line length in the line storage unit 5, therefore, has been correctly measured at all times by means of the instrumentation unit consisting of a roller 10 and a variable resistor 38 regardless of the position of the roller, thereby, the point B reaching the winding unit 31 can be correctly determined. |
