PURPOSE:To prevent braking force from falling in summer, by making the peripheral surface of a roller from plastic of high hysteresis which corresponds to the load and by combining the roller with another roller of opposite temperature characteristic to construct a brake roller unit. CONSTITUTION:A brake roller 11 comprises a rolling body 17 movably fitted with a cylindrical shaft 15 through a bearing and a special plastic layer 18 fitted on the outside of the rolling body. When load acts to the outer layer 18, deflection acts in the opposite direction so that braking is effected. Another brake roller 13 whose temperature characteristic is opposite to that of the former roller 11 is provided with bimetal spring washers 30 located in contact with the sides 26, 27 of the body 22 of the roller 12. When the temperature rises, the washers 30 strongly push the sides 26, 27 to compensate for the slackening of the braking action of a ring 24 to apply proper braking force independently of the temperature. |
