PURPOSE:To surely separate a sheet, in a paper feeder used for facsimile or the like, by providing the notches for inserting a separator roller and feed roller, on a removable document mounting bed, and by arranging a brake unit with the samller friction coefficient, than that between the feed roller and the sheet to a feed side of the separator roller. CONSTITUTION:When a removable document mounting bed 16 is mounted, a separator roller 2 and feed roller 3 enter notched parts and are placed at a face-to-face position to a document 19. While the feed roller 3 is rotated a turn, the lowermost document 19 is fed to the separator roller 2 by a circular arc surface 5. Said document 19 is carried out passing between the separator roller 2 and a brake unit 10. At this time, if the document 19 is overlapped, because the friction coefficient between the paper 19 and the brake unit 10, is smaller than the coefficient between the paper 19 and the roller 2, the upper paper 19 slips, and only the document 19 at the lowermost layer can be carried out. In this way, the sheet can be surely separated. |
