PURPOSE:To have a steering system in double construction, which assures safe change-over from the left steering wheel to the right and vice versa, by installing a direction selecting solenoid-operated valve between the fluid pressure source and that pair of power steering devices, on the right and left, and by changing over this selector valve one-sidedly by a priority switch. CONSTITUTION:In a car to be used solely in a driver training school, a direction selecting solenoid-operated valve 17 is installed between the fluid pressure supply lines 14, 15 to a pair of power steering devices 3, 4 on the right and left, and a pump 16 as fluid pressure source. The circuit for control of this direction selecting valve 17 is composed of a power supply 31, a main switch 32, a relay 33 for self-holding circuit, normally open relay contacts 33a, 33b under control of this relay 33, and a switch 30 for change-over of this direction selecting valve 17. This switch 30 is installed in the neighborhood of trainer's steering wheel so that turning-on of this switch 30 will actuate only the power steering device on the trainer side. Thus change-over of steering wheel from the left to right and vice versa can be made sucurely. |
