<p>A spinneret and a melt spinning process are provided wherein the spinneret has a number of combined orifices (22, 24) each of which comprises two or more individual capillaries (30, 34) arranged to cooperate such that one filament is spun from each combined orifice, the combined orifices having different nominal dimensions, eg different capillary lengths or transverse dimensions, different included angles between capillaries or different land widths between capillaries. Yarns spun from such spinnerets have reduced doff-to-doff standard deviation of yarn bulk.</p> |
