PURPOSE:To obtain the titled substance useful as anesthetic agent continuously in high yield, by reacting 1,1,2-trifluoro-2-chloroethyl dichloromethyl ether with HF in the vapor phase at a high temperature. CONSTITUTION:1,1,2-Trifluoro-2-chloroethyl dichloromethyl ether (I) in the vapor phase is reacted with HF in the absence of a catalyst at 200-400 deg.C or in the presence of a catalyst at the boiling point of the compound (I)-350 deg.C to give the titled substance. A fluoride or oxyfluoride of Mo, Cr, Al thallium, etc. may be used as the catalyst, and the compound (I) is usually reacted with HF in the presence of the catalyst at a molar ratio between the compound (I) and HF of 1:(2-20). The intermediate contained in the reaction mixture can be easily separated and recovered and converted into the aimed substance. EFFECT:The continuous operation is possible for a long term even if the catalyst is used. |
