PURPOSE:To pick up a correct partial pattern and to collate a reference partial pattern, by using a recognizing processing using character structures such as side, right-hand radical and crown part, for the detailed recognizing processing after rough classification. CONSTITUTION:A candidate category pickup section 2 makes recognition based on the content of a dictionary 10 to pick up a candidate category. On the other hand, based on the information picked up from a character structure dictionary 4, a split discriminating circuit 14 checks whether or not the information such as direction of split is coincident. An objective partial pattern detecting circuit section 15 detects a part of the partial pattern to be the objective of collation afterwards and gives instruction so that the corresponding partial pattern can be picked up from an inputted Kanji 1. The pattern is collated at the standard partial pattern read out from a standard partial pattern directional 6 at a recognizing section 18 and an answer is obtained from a minimum discidence detecting circuit 19-3. |
