PURPOSE:To enable a display with a sufficient luminance to be obtained from a phosphor, and enable a bar graph and the like to be effectively displayed with color on a graph display apparatus, which carried out gas discharge so as to make the phosphor to emit light and performs a bar-like analog display with color. CONSTITUTION:A first electrode group is constituted by providing a number of cathodes 13a, 13b... on the inner wall of a base plate 11 with short intervals. The above cathodes 13a, 13b... are adjusted to extend perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of a long thin case which is constituted of the base plate 11 and a face plate 12. Next, a transparent anode 14 used as a second electrode is provided along the longitudinal direction of the above case so that it faces to the first electrode group. After that, insulating layers 16a, 16b... are formed on the upper surfaces of the cathodes 13a, 13b... so that the peripheries of the upper surfaces of the cathodes 13a, 13b... are uncoated, and phosphor layers 17a, 17b... are formed on the upper surfaces of the layers 16a, 16b.... |
