PURPOSE:To avoid dangerous combustion or explosion within a gas vent line by additionally installing a bypass vent valve for exhausting to atmosphere in a vent valve communicating with an exhaust gas vent line installed after joining of an exhaust air line end an exhaust fuel line of a fuel cell main body. CONSTITUTION:When an air electrode 5 in a fuel cell main body 3 is purged with nitrogen soon after a plant is stopped, a reformed gas line-air line isolation valve 17 is closed and a bypass valve 25 is opened, then the purged gas is exhausted to the atmosphere so that the detected value in a combustion exhaust gas line pressure detector 23 is kept constant. At the same time, a flammable gas on a reforming pipe 7 side is exhausted to an exhaust gas vent line 19 by nitrogen purge in the reforming pipe 7. When the air electrode 5 is purged with nitrogen after the plant was stopped, flow of air into the exhaust gas vent line 19 is prevented and mixing of air and flammable gas within the exhaust gas vent line 19 is avoided. Dangerous combustion or explosion can be avoided. |
