PURPOSE:To clean satisfactorily a tape before it touches a head, by using a cleaning tape which travels via a pulley that is turned in accordance with the travelling of the tape. CONSTITUTION:A tape 1 is drawn out to travel while winding round a pulley 2. The pulley 2 and a pulley 8 which is connected via a speed reducing device 7 are turned in accordance with the travelling of the tape 1. Thus a cleaning tape 10 which is wound round a pulley 9 via the pulley 8 starts travelling. Then the tape 1 is cleaned satisfactorily by changing contacting surface to the surface of the tape 10 at all times by travelling, at the downstream of a magnetic head 3 and before the tape 1 touches the tape 10. In such way, the recording is possible in a good and assured way. |
