PURPOSE:To extend the life of the titled brake disk by a method wherein in a slide section slidable with a brake lining, a plurality of slots spaced circumferentially from one another and extending inwardly in the radial direction from the outer periphery of the slide section are provided. CONSTITUTION:The brake disk 1 is bolted to a wheel 3 mounted on a shaft 2 and the slide section 4 capable of producing a braking action by coming into contact with the brake lining (not shown) is formed on the radially and outwardly extending flat section of the brake disk 1. Further, the slide section 4 is provided with slits 5 extending inwardly in the radial direction from the outer periphery thereof. Thus, due to the existence of the slits 5, the binding force of the disk 1 against the thermal expansion of the slide section 4 in the circumferential direction is reduced and accordingly, a tensile residual stress within the slide section 4 at the time of cooling is reduced. |
