PURPOSE:To obtain a device with improved original reading efficiency with a simple constitution, by providing two sets of image sensor, switching the image sensors at reciprocating, and making read scanning of an original. CONSTITUTION:When an optical system moving section starts reading outgoing operation from a start position (a), a data processing circuit (not shown in the figure) switches a circuit so as to process a picture signal obtained from an image sensor 6A as effective, the sub-scannig toward A is made and reading of the 6A is made. When this reading is finished and the optical system moving section starts the returning operation from a return position (b), the data processing circuit is switched to process the picture signal from an image sensor 6B as effective information, resulting that the sub-scanning toward B is made, and the normal picture signal the same as the outgoing operation can be obtained from the image sensor 6B. |
