MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the recording medium which is extremely large in output and has excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristics by specifying the pore volume in a metallic thin-film magnetic layer to 0.005 to 0.05ml per 1gram metallic thin-film magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The pore volume of the metallic thin-film magnetic layer is specified to 0.005 to 0.05ml per 1gram metallic thin-film magnetic layer. Vapor flow is made incident diagonal to a nonmagnetic base and an ion beam is directed to the base in association with the magnitude of the incident angle (angle with the normal erected on the nonmagnetic base) of the vapor flow of the magnetic material in an ion assisting method to direct the vapor flow of the magnetic material onto the nonmagnetic base and to simultaneously direct the ion beam thereto by a vacuum vapor deposition method. The metallic thin film type magnetic recording medium having the excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristics and excellent C/N is obtd. in this way.
