PURPOSE:To prevent malfunction in hill-climbing operation due to the motion of a subject by detecting the variation in the subject in a video signal through a video camera, and stopping restarting the hill-climbing operation. CONSTITUTION:When a subject has no variation, the output of a camera circuit 2 is utilized and a motor driving circuit 7 and a motor 8 are operated by the output of a hill-climbing circuit 9 to move a lens 1, performing hill-climbing operation. When the subject has some variation, the variation is detected from the camera circuit 2 by a subject variation detecting circuit 10 and a gate circuit 11 disconnects the hill-climbing circuit 9 from the motor driving circuit 7, thereby interrupting the hill-climbing operation. |
