PURPOSE:To calculate the instantaneous value of the discharge of poisonous components by measuring the concentration of the poisonous components to be measured and an inert gas in a partial sample of a mixture of the exhaust gas and a fixed flow rate of the inert gas after the sampling of the exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:One end of a sampling pipeline 10 is connected to an exhaust tube 4 of an automobile. An injection port 11 of an inert gas is provided on the upper most stream and fixed flow rate of gas supplied thereto from an inert gas vessel 13 through a flow rate controller 12. Exhaust gas is sufficiently mixed with the inert gas and diffused at a mixing section 14 and a diffusing section 15. A fixed flow rate of the exhaust gas is sucked from a sampling probe 16 and sent by an equal quantity to an inert gas densitometer 17 and a poisonous component densitometer 18 with pumps P1 and P2. Then, the ratio between both measured values is determined with an arithmetic unit 20 to calculate the total discharge of poisonous components. |
