PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for computation for the detection of a significant picture element block, by reading as it is a bit of a counter, when an output of an exclusive NOR circuit to which a signal from a 1-bit delay circuit and an input signal are inputted, is reduced to zero. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal read out from a memory 2 according to the address designation of a counter 3 is applied to an exclusive NOR circuit 5 together with a signal from a 1-bit delay circuit 6. A black block detecting circuit 17 reads the upper-order m-bit of the counter 3 as a number of black block as it is when the output of an exclusive NOR circuit 5 is zero for temporary storage. That is, if one line consists of 2<m+n> picture elements and the elements are split into 2<m> blocks having 2<n> picture elements, the upper-order m-bit of the counter 3 represents the block number itself at that time. The circuit 17 can be substitued with a microcomputer. |
