An electrical sleeve and pin connector (1,2) with through-going contact chambers (19) provided in an insulating socket carrier, has lock rings (12) with a chamfered lower edge, and longitudinal protrusions (13) on its periphery which fit into corresp. recesses (17) in the sleeve-like contact insert internal surface which makes for good contact. The assembly is carried out in that the pin is inserted from the top until it bears against the top portion (9) with its stepped shoulder (8). Then the contact element (10) is inserted from below which bears against the shoulder (16) in the contact cham (19).Finally, the above cited lock ring (12) is snap-inserted, also from below. ADVANTAGE - Depth of insertion of pin elements is defined and contact surface is augmented.
