The reciprocating yarn guide system for winding cross wound bobbins, has a continuous belt (20) with yarn carriers (30,31) as an extension of the narrow side of the belt (20), to carry the yarn across and back through the belt levels (20',20'') at the yarn entry gap to the bobbin. The belt levels (20', 20'') extend over the reciprocating stroke length (b), angled in the direction (18) of yarn travel. The belt levels (20',20'') are aligned so that, according to the direction (18) of yarn travel, they cross at a point in the running direction (28) closer to the narrowest point of the yarn entry gap of the belt level (20'') from the centre of the stroke width (b). ADVANTAGE - The appts. gives a high speed stroke action to the yarn, without stoppages, to give high bobbin winding speeds.
